    Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

    • Fans of Wilco who enjoy their early alt-country sound shouldn't pick up this record, because that's not what you get
    • Basically, they try to do two styles at once, and while every good record needs a little diversity, I feel that there's really nothing binding the alternative country half to the avant-garde noise-rock half
    • This is a wonderful record
    • The emotion/character and the songs are what make "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" a great record
    • This is truly on of the best records of my lifetime.
    • It is simply a great, SMART pop record with more hooks than their previous effort.
    • Certainly it will go down as the best record of 2002...or 2001 (when it was released
    • Memorable, sometimes surreal lyrics are the perfect compliment to this dreary record.
    • I bought the real CD the other day and I have never felt better about a purchase, this record has the goods
    • The band found a new label, and Tweedy doesn't need anybody else to make a great record
    • Pick it up if you want just a great record
    • Bottom line is, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is a great record
    • Some of you may enjoy the squawky bits; for those who don't, take advantage of the power of your computer and make this terrific record suit your taste.
    • Yankee is an amazing record, from start to finish.
    • if this had been the released version, YHF would easily be the best record of the first half of the decade.
    • This new record finally breaks that trend.
    • This is hands down the best record I've heard in two years or more ("Yoshimi" is close, "Elephant" is close, but YHF takes the gold.)
    • the coolest album i've listened to in years, and the best headphone record in a long time
    • A wondrous glowing record of uncommon passion and depth, it ranks with the true greats of the past ten years
    • This record was designed to make you think, so if that isn't a problem for you, then I can't recommend this record enough.
    • A great record that takes more than one listen
    • Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is without a doubt the best record of 2002 and so far the best album of the 00's, hands-down
    • I thought that in the 21st century it was impossible to make a good pop record that means
    • Summerteeth is the one worthwhile record this band has produced, with sounds from eno, lennon, brian wilson and others blended together in an off-kilter formalism of subverted swagger
    • This is a truly wonderous recording.
    • I love this record.
    • And kudos for these guys shopping this record when their label blew them off
    • I loved Wilco's AM, and every record since then by
    • Or for those unfortunate souls who are new to Wilco, imagine all four Beatles were still alive and together making great records to sit alongside the White Album and Revolver
    • One of the best records of all time
    • It's honestly a perfect record
    • In a time when most records are not interesting and are calculated for a carefully defined and determined market segment, records like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot are refreshing and needed
    • More bands should be this brave and release records that they truly believe in.
    • why.their 1999 record "summerteeth" was the last perfect pop record i heard, and this one seems to take off where that left off
    • This isn't totally horrible (though I can't bear Pink Floyd), but it makes for an uneven record.
    • While not everyone will find everything here appealing, it nevertheless is one of the first great records of the 21st century
    • I'd recommend this record, but it's not representative of their work.
    • I can only ruin this record by writing some hokey review
    • (I mean for good). All and all, a nice little pop record.
    • This is an ambitious record that deserves all the hype it got when it came out
    • This record is a winner and while I'm not huge on Wilco, I am a fan of "YHF".
    • "this was the album that changed the way i listened to music" or "Yankee hotel Foxtrot" was the last truly perfect record", or "woman
    • I love this record perfect amount of experimentation, great writing although I must admit some of the lyrics when I first heard this record were non-sensical at time even stupid
    • In my opinion, this is a beautiful, brilliant record
    • But nothing in their back catalogue sounded as good as this record
    • This isn't just the best record of the year, it's the best record of at least the last half-dozen years
    • This record feels like a quietly spoken, frank, unexpected comment from a friend.
    • It speaks to a time when the music mattered and people could "play Kiss records, beautiful and stoned"."Radio Cure" sounds like a cry for help with static thrown in
    • it's a really good record.
    • However, after listening to the album I really don't understand where all the fuzz about this album being a difficult record to listen too!!
    • In short, this record is a masterpiece that is a requirement for your collection!
    • It's an amazing record.
    • Great Record
    • If you can do it, you will be rewarded by a very enjoyable, smart record
    • Combine this with "A Ghost is Born" and you have two of the best records of the last ten years, hands down
    • You see relationships fall apart (band members, record companies) and the final victory that Wilco had with this album
    • So Wilco buys their record from their label and circulate it underground via internet and important record reviewers
    • Folks like Randy (who gave this album a one star rating) belong in the gutter with the record executives who ignored Wilco based on this material
    • While YFT may not rack up the sales or attention that other 'zeitgeist' albums have (joshua tree, automatic for the people (with which it shares alot)), it is a fine record.
    • singer/guitarist/god jeff tweedy's work can also be found on the just released soundtrack to the film "chelsea walls".this is a glorious record, and it deserves the attention of anyone who can appreciate a listen that is not only fulfilling, but challenging.
    • I do enjoy some of the lyrics and think there are some good tunes but really, why "Summerteeth" is a much richer record.
    • This is one of the greatest "rock" records of the last 20 yrs (and probably beyond, but i'm admittedly not terribly familiar with too much before that)
    • The whole record is like that.
    • "I am the Man who loves You" are three of the catchiest songs the band has ever recorded.
    • Again, this record is not bad, just incredibly overrated.
    • Not that this recording's breaking any really new ground.
    • it's probably one of my favorite records, and i have a lot of records
    • That's not to say that Wilco have gone and made an overly pretentious, arty record either- not by a long shot.
    • I was just waiting to find a copy of "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" in the used cd bins at my favorite record store
    • Not that this recording's breaking any really new ground.
    • it is definately worth buying if you are a Wilco fan or if you want to simply listen to an excellent recording.
    • Though the previous Summerteeth was a strong record, YHF finally firmly pushes Jeff Tweedy out of the former Uncle Tupelo's shadow to become an excellent artist in his own right
    • This record was designed to make you think, so if that isn't a problem for you, then I can't recommend this record enough.
    • Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" combines excellent songwriting with spare, effective production to create one of the best records of the decade so far
    • It's an odd record.
