    Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

    • Fans of the Velvet Underground, of Wilco's earlier stuff, of Jim O'Rourke, of funk and alt.country and indie rock and good old rock and roll all need to own and know this album
    • Wilco was on its way (after A.M. and Being There) to becoming one of the best rock/roots rock bands in the world.
    • If you like intelligent rock, this is for you.
    • On their last album, Summerteeth, Wilco started to move away from just being an (excellent) alt.country, roots rock band and incorporating more elements into their music.
    • I like indie rock and am happy that it is beginning to become somewhat popular so these pop crap kids can listen to something of substance.
    • "I'm Trying to Break Your Heart" sets the mood with a bluesy, soulful take on Radiohead, while "Reservations" wraps things up with an achingly beautiful love song."Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" updates the best of progressive rock, power pop, and American roots-rock, and raises the bar for a new millenium of music.
    • As a fan of rock music like Poison, Ratt or
    • YANKEE HOTEL FOXTROT is far removed from the hard rock/country hybrids created by Jeff Tweedy's former band Uncle Tupelo
    • The songs flow quite seamlessly into one another, even though there are several changes of tone, from the quiet drift of "Radio Cure" to the upbeat pop-rock of "Heavy Metal Drummer" to the soaring journey of "Poor Places
    • If you want to hear a good "alt-country-rock album," try Crosby Stills Nash and Young's "Deja Vu
    • The songs vary from light, barely-strummed dirges to happy little rocking numbers.
    • There can be no doubt that right now Wilco is America's Best Rock and Roll Band.
    • At this point, Wilco are pretty much invincable, tackling alt-country, roots rock, Beatlesque pop, and Classic rock all with stagering results
    • This is the type of music that anyone who likes a good rock album could potentially like, even if Wilco doesn't seem like your cup of tea.
    • It is a perfect mix of catchy roots-rock melodies and gorgeous experimental ballads
    • This is easily one of the better rock albums ever
    • YHF blends the traditional Wilco countty feel with soft rock to create a never-before heard sound
    • Truly a breakthough in modern rock music
    • While none of the Wilco guys are "great musicians" in the progressive rock sense of the term, they are all true artists, and I think Jeff Tweedy is amazingly gifted.
    • Ken is a fine roots-rock drummer--but that's also a limitation.
    • Much of the album is very catchy and pop/rock, like "Kamera
    • As a person who loves music that mostly comes from the UK, Wilco is probably the best "rock" band right now (and probably has been for quite some time).
    • Without a doubt, Wilco's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" is the best pop/rock album I've heard all year
    • This is one of the greatest "rock" records of the last 20 yrs (and probably beyond, but i'm admittedly not terribly familiar with too much before that)
    • Alright, all lyrical, complex rock pretty much begins and ends with Bobby
    • Who Loves You," an exuberant, somewhat mainstream love song punctuated by some of the most jagged, ugly, dissonant and downright angry acid-rock guitar ever to appear on a major label record.
    • Can't wait for the next album, but meanwhile enjoy YHF, alt-rock doesnt get much better than this!
    • This album perfectly balances rocking-out and slowing it down for simply beautiful music.
    • This is easily one of the best rock albums ever recorded.
    • They quickly moved from rock-infused country to almost pure alt-rock
    • To quote one of the many outstanding songs on this album, every song is a comeback, indeed and with this release Wilco have produced one of the more extraordinary albums in recent memory making Foxtrot a measuring stick for many modern alternative rock albums hoping to claim the tag of "landmark album
    • And all the hoopla regarding the record company and their supposed screw-up, all just ended up being a self-serving publicity campaign, rock on.
    • This is one of those albums that is ushering the now popular indie rock scene, which is very focused on looking cool, but not actually playing any good music and "singing" out of tune (or just babbling randomly).
    • Alright, all lyrical, complex rock pretty much begins and ends with Bobby
    • The usual elements of country, folk, classic rock, singer-songwriter, etc. are there, but the ratios of one to the other are altered pretty drastically from their earlier records
