Yuneec Typhoon H UHD 4K Collision Avoidance Hexacopter Drone= with Battery and ST16 Controller

    • With the realization that I was in Smart Mode rather than Angle
    • The gimbal works very well and the video is very smooth, even with the platform jerking around in go-fast mode.
    • But if you don't want the go-fast mode, the rate slider slows it down enough for really smooth photography and nice slow soft landings.
    • Orbit mode and Obstacle avoidance work fine
    • One of the tips that I have seen a lot is Make sure the battery is clicked in real good and also if you are learning use the Angle mode not the Smart mode
    • Very easy to fly and since you have speed control on the side of the transmitter you can put it in fast mode to get where you want to film then drop it into turtle mode when you need to make the movements more gentle
    • Has great smart modes and Yuneec has been pushing out updates to give even better tools.
    • He told me that he looked at the logs with a colleague and said that the Typhoon darted off to get away from me and was operating like it should in Smart Mode.
    • The different modes for the 360 gimbal are awesome and allow you to get some really cool shots if you follow a line
    • As an experienced drone pilot, the smart mode was not for
    • I'm a newbie when it comes to drones, but while in smart mode the Typhoon H is supposed to move in the direction corresponding with the joy stick
    • Above that are the switches for flight modes (Smart/Angle), and obstacle avoidance.
    • I returned it due to the fact while in smart mode, I couldn't get it to respond to right joy stick
    • I asked Mike why the Typhoon was not behaving according to Smart Mode parameters earlier in the flight.
    • Smart mode uses the GPS on both the controller and the drone to direct the drone without reference to the direction the 'front' of the drone is facing.
    • It is great for photo's and capturing moments in follow me mode to look back on with your families
    • It is possible to set it in what they call 'smart' mode - and this will cause odd behavior - but in what they call 'angle' or 'pilot' mode - it should behave no differently than any other RC system
    • I asked him to consider the fact that the Typhoon did not behave as it should in Smart Mode.
    • If the Typhoon behaved like it should in Smart Mode, I would have known something was wrong and would not continue flying it and it would not have had an opportunity to crash.
    • I will say that it was very simple to control both in 'turtle' and 'rabbit' modes and in 'smart' and 'angle' mode.
    • The autonomous modes are impressive, and should be even more so when Intel RealSense is integrated later this year (company press releases indicate this device will be upgradable to that technology)
    • i love the automatic flight modes like Orbit, Selfie, and curved cable cam
    • In Smart Mode with Obstacle Avoidance on it's virtually impossible to hit a tree or other obstacle
    • Alternately, you can actively pilot the drone (using Smart or Angle) mode until you are above your desired landing site.
    • and I love the features such as; collision avoidance (Intel RealSense), Smart flight mode, retractable undercarriage, Wizard drone positioning by pointing, orbit me, follow me, journey, and cable.
    • Start on angled mode and don't rely on the smart mode due to satellite probs
    • analysis.2016 Jun 15 4:15 PMMike call me and tells me that the Typhoon was in Smart Mode rather than in Angle mode as I thought.
    • Smart Mode is supposed to keep the Typhoon 26 feet away from me.
    • AND for first flight after any updates, or relocation of 100 miles, allow the plane to sit ready mode to lock satellites, for 10-12 minutes, DESPITE saying ready on the ST16.
