Zoom stands behind their product it seems, and the sound quality and effects are far superior for the money to L6 and Digitech as well
My only big drawbacks are: some of the pitch shifting effects have absolutely terrible tracking, and the dirt/fuzz options don't sound nearly as good as the real deal.
Great sound quality aside, the build quality is great for the money
All that having been said, the pedal does the job, sounds great, and the build quality is fantastic.
Great build quality, and tons of solid effects to work with
This unit was affordable for me and a welcome addition to my growing music accessories.
The Looper is also more a novelty rather than a useful addition
My only big drawbacks are: some of the pitch shifting effects have absolutely terrible tracking, and the dirt/fuzz options don't sound nearly as good as the real deal.
If you don't need to switch your effects super often and just want a bomb DI rig/backup rig/versatile addition to your pedalboard, this is your girl

It is extremely affordable and a great value (one of a few key reasons I purchased it) especially when priced against the number of comparable analog foot pedals required to replicate the comprehensive bank of sound effects available
My only big drawbacks are: some of the pitch shifting effects have absolutely terrible tracking, and the dirt/fuzz options don't sound nearly as good as the real deal.
The primary reasons I purchased this unit was the high number of positive reviews all over the web, the exceptional price point and the value for dollar spent
Considering that a single, high end pedal can run close to $200, the G3Xn is a good value for learning and experimenting.

With a little tweaking, you can have a great patch

but I was able to figure out how to use this fine product
I really liked the product: good sound, amazing effects, lot of factory patches
(I just like the flexibility of being able to place my foot pedal in more comfortable positions as needed when playing/practicing and, given the multitude of adjustable parameters, having the unit on my desk for accessibility when recording at home – save from having to bend over all the time.)I am a tech savvy guy (I reckon a smidge or two above average) but still found this product to be very difficult to learn
It's still by far the best value effects pedal in production right now.
Plus, should you happen to stomp on the wrong pedal (God forbid
Even worse, the original series had a bunch "double" pedals, such as Delay/Reverb that would go into a single slot, but the "n" series does not so in practice I'm using 7 or even 8 virtual "pedals" on my G3.At the end of the day I couldn't replicate the majority of the patches I had made on the G3, mostly because of the slot limitations, and that was very disappointing
In order to set the tap tempo, you have to hold the bottom right pedal for several seconds before you select "tap" and then you can tap in your tempo
However, I still like this pedal better than the G3 for one main reason
You are not able to do any editing or building of patches via computer, this would make things so much more user friendly
this thing screams
I like this thing a lot but do not use the pedal at all except as an initial/final setting.
That being said, once you are able to figure things out and gain some understanding on how to enter menus, set parameters and build your own patches, this thing is a lot of fun
This unit was affordable for me and a welcome addition to my growing music accessories.
if you're aware of the limitations and strengths and you're still interested, you're GOING to like this unit
Aside from the initial learning of its functions, this is a very intuitive unit
The G5 is probably the best multi FX unit I have ever had & still use it regularly
The new G3n also lacks the balanced XLR output which the G3 had and trades the full sized USB for a micro USB port... the old unit could be USB bus powered and also could be battery powered
