I hear favorable things about this unit compared to the Markbass standalone synth pedal at 3x its price, and while I've not used the MB pedal, I can believe it
I love this thing
I'd actually pay to enhance this thing's capabilities and add a few more effects options

While I won't use them all the time, as I believe in just having a good sounding amp to begin with, the 60B's models sound remarkably good not just as a line-in sim tool but actually straight into the front of a proper amp, and they've even allowed me to "salvage" a terrible-sounding practice amp for the purposes of rehearsal
I've apparently had expectations that were too high, others were crap (like the Behringer, the Vox), while some were pretty good (the Zoom series, a few Korg models), but this is just wonderful-works well, very realistic models and effects, compact, and well-made

They sound good, but the gain can be dialed almost all the way back on so-called "overdrive" algos and it's still nowhere near clean as it would be on, say, a Tubescreamer
The closest thing I can find to a decent tube warmth is the Sansamp model
The thing they lack is that there is no "tube warmth" or distortion as you overdrive the amp models

But, I am not a heavy user of bass effects, so I'll just comment on what I use regularly: The compressor modules are pretty good--not as adjustable as a dedicated compressor, but better than most anything else in a stompbox
Reverbs sound very nice for a unit this cheap, so do the compressors (the 160 model is my main choice), and the noise reduction algo works well / is very handy to have

It sounds a bit digital for my taste--they should add an adjustable lowpass as well to allow it to become more "low

Now that legendary analog Octave pedal, OC-2, has discontinued.. the octaver effect in this unit sounds like analog and has great tracking

I own a couple of thousand dollars on beautiful analog pedals....

Frankly, I think it sounds way nicer than my pal's much pricier Bass Pod XT Live, and it's way easier to get a usable sound out of, too
It has some good presets that can be tweaked for some great sound.

and it's not terribly rich-sounding nor sonically flexible
