I tried adjusting the mic position, the volume, the speaker position, etc, and could find no way to eliminate the loud and startling feedback.

The only downside is that when I get close to a whiteboard or too close to some other objects, the feedback is terrible

When I first tried it, I got the loud feedback, it was too close to the mic, fine

I ended up not using it because of the painfully loud, screeching feedback when I would move the wrong way

but as i couldn't keepbit from periodically giving a loud feedback squeal unless I rotated

Second, it helps to set it up with the speaker on one's belt and a bit of the body between the unit and the microphone to limit feedback which can be loud.

I can only get it to work if I jiggle the cord that connects the mic to the amplifier, and that often results in terrible feedback instead of sound amplification (even though I’m wearing the headset and keeping the headset and amplifier apart)

It is ok at most, people in the back still can't hear as well as if I were to yell/talk really really loudly...

What motivated me to write this review was that I do not remember in the product description nor the reviews mentioning the fact that: if your input is limited (as in this very instance) this may not be a suitable solution

Just be careful how you place the mic as it's easy to trigger feedback.

He was confused as to what to do and actually thought this unit was to help him hear me so he is somewhat mentally challenged as well
