The reason I didn't rate this unit 5 stars is because when there is a power outage, this unit becomes semi-noisy; and also sometimes this unit clicks loudly (maybe it's resetting some electrical setting?).Note: Vacuum cleaners will trip-off this unit and all battery backups I have, so don't connect vacuum cleaners to it - the manufacturer's user guide mentions something about this.

The unit is silent and I never hear it until the power goes out

I have no idea about the specifics for servers, or how far it should be away from equipment to prevent feedback loop, but for home use, the unit is silent and works flawlessly.2

That unit was a replacement for an APC I bought at a retail store which was at the end of its warranty, but the battery died

I presume those are attributable to a failure to set up correctly and NOT a faulty unit

Great unit

I saw several similar comments about this unit - and to be fair, analogous units from other manufacturers

I really like the fact that there is a digital gauge that tells you how many minutes it will support your computer unit

If you follow the instructions and use the easy to follow set up guidance, this is one of the easiest back-up units I have used

Overall, it's a great (relatively) little unit and works as advertised

and I highly recommend this unit as a backup device for similar functions

The first unit I received the LCD display was non-functional although the unit itself was working as I saw through the downloaded software

Compact and built to last because it weighs a ton, good power setting features all around so its solid unit.

This compact unit will protect your sensitive electronics from damaging power surges.

The difference was a couple of dollars more, but for something that could possibly last 20 years, saving a few dollars was not worth the headache of an unreliable unit or unresponsive customer service
