• Reviews around reception (4.56 of 5)

BaoFeng Pofung UV-82 Dual Band Two-Way Radio 136-174MHz VHF & 400-520MHz UHF (Black)

    • Moving on, there are some issues I have with the UV-82 radio; As stated, the reception is very good, but it's super sensitive on some FM frequencies (especially on FM Radio
    • The UV-5R has a longer life battery option; the UV-B5 has better strong signal reception and the better antenna as well; the F8-HP and the variations have the extra watts out; but if you don't need these things, this is the radio to get.
    • The mountain we were on had hundreds of corners and curves and even in the darkest corner of the tightest canyon curve we still had decent reception from the bottom of the hill
    • I get better reception and transition than my UV-5R radios.
    • Reception is good, and audio/ speaker quality is excellent
    • Great reception for monitoring.
    • The reception is great, especially paired with the 15.6" whip antenna.
    • only thing negative for me is the antenna is not good the reception is poor and the transmission.but the price compensate that
    • Many nice features, excellent reception, and other hams tell me my output is very good, clear, and with no distortion with the local repeaters
    • Unbelievable reception on this radio
    • Like most inexpensive HTs, the dual watch does not provide simultaneous reception on both channels- the first active channel is the one heard.
    • I do not know if the better reception is the radio or the antenna, as the stock antenna is longer than on the UV-5R.
    • Receive is much better on the new one .2uv which is very close to my ICOM IC-2730A at .18uV,the reception is great
    • What's not to love at this price for mobility and good reception
    • The reception is better out of the box, but I still recommend picking up an aftermarket antenna
    • crystal clear reception and loud and clear through the radio speaker, when not using the mic.
    • Cons: not field programmable, no option to power it issuing regular batteries (although you can get an adapter to run it directly from a 12 volt source)Pros: decent range, reception and filtering on par with most big brand HT; can't beat this price
    • The radio has great strong reception with the provided antenna.
    • Good transmission and reception.
    • Good reception, solid feel
    • However: all and all, it's a performer, significantly more noticeable power than the previous series, very good sound and excellent reception.
    • I live almost ten miles from my nearest town with scanner activity and standing in my yard it still gets clear reception
    • Good range, clear voice reception but low volume.
    • It is a great radio seems to be well made and fairly easy to use and it gets great reception very happy with it
    • I think the reception is better and a little more descriminating and definitely louder than the 5R. It does not have a button to switch back and forth between channel and frequency mode however
    • The reception is good and the speaker is loud and clear.
    • nice little h/t a lot of bang for your buck....
    • well i
