If you really can't afford this big boy, just get the Blue Snowball, it's a weird one but if price is your concern then this is the next best thing.

it is a very nice mike, we used it to record small group getting together to play music, at first we thought we had a problem with it going wah wah, or coming and going, what we had was a mike in our camera recording and the yeti recording, once we turned the other mike off and only had the yeti doing the recording it was excellent quality, and well priced, we were unsuccessful at getting any help or being able to contact yeti for product support.

I bought this because it was at a decent price, and I've owned one before, but a "friend" stole it from me, and I know the quality of Yetis are great
