Canary allows us to keep an eye on our pets throughout the day, monitor when our teenage children get home from school, as well as offering the peace of mind of knowing that our house has the protection of motion activated recording and the audible alarm

That tells me they have zero confidence in their motion detection algorithm and are afraid of false alarms.

If Canary Flex supported the software "masking" feature that their other cameras have, then I would have far fewer false alarms of the bush in front of my condo swaying in the wind

All of our alerts so far have been bright lights shining in our front door into the camera late at night, but even though they have been false alarms it is reassuring to know it is working.

And of course the audible alarm is a great feature!

At first the Canary notified me all of the time, but, as it trained itself of my comings and goings it now false alarms NEVER

Early on there were a fair number of false alarms due lightning or shadows moving, but the app seems to be learning to recognize these and eliminate the false alarms.

NOW - I still receive VERY short videos with the notifications, but can only see the thumbnail of what caused the alarm, not enough to see the actual action (what happened before, during and after the snapshot).

It is their most expensive model and doesn't have the most basic feature that keeps out false alarms (masking)

The Flex units give many false alarms.

No more false alarms to the police department as I control when the police gets called..

It's smarter now so it doesn't send notifications about these false alarms, but still records unseen movement for a bit when I'm away

If necessary, I can call the local police directly, sound an alarm (remarkably loud alarm!

The alarm is not quite as loud as I would like it to be, but it will still let someone know that they've been spotted

Works great, you do get a lot of false alarms if you have a pet and a moving fan and doesn't seem that the software really learns, other than that it's a pretty solid device and $99 per year is reasonable for the cloud recording.

The WIFI aspect of the unit does not work, and after several hours on WIFI the unit goes offline...therefore I have to keep it plugged into Ethernet, so I am limited as to where I can place the device
