Great device with awesome features, but it is ridiculous how the company keeps raising prices for the service from the 1st time I started looking into the device

I've troubleshooted for every possible scenario, and the only thing that remains is a clearly faulty device

Some days ago Canary sent an email to customers that bought its device like me saying that they are returning some of those features back and out of the membership plan.

We bought this because of the features it offered and now they’ve completely changed everything and took away everyone’s plans and features, forcing members into a costly subscription or having a useless device

and I will not recommend this horrible device to any of my family or friends.

I paid a lot more for the same hardware originally and now they have made the device and app useless unless you pay for a membership.

I highly recommend purchasing this device, and think I'm going to pick up a couple more for other areas of the house.

As far as the user experience, absolutely wonderful device that work exactly as described and as intended.

I feel that with this company bad-ethics’ changes, what I have is a stylish Baby Monitoring device instead of a the home security system I want it to have

: if they want, they could remotely brick your device or block you from accessing your feed (which, mind you can ONLY be accessed from a smartphone/tablet through an app NOT a browser).It's really a shame because the device itself is pretty good and easy to set up, but they keep cutting functionality to sell a monthly subscription

Additionally, the device is terrible at recognizing when I leave and arrive home, forcing me to be constantly manually changing between home and away mode throughout the day

These devices are now useless in our home.

Works great, you do get a lot of false alarms if you have a pet and a moving fan and doesn't seem that the software really learns, other than that it's a pretty solid device and $99 per year is reasonable for the cloud recording.

Once a company shows the short sighted choice of cutting services and intentionally crippling a purchased device, you have to assume they will continuously raise price while cutting service.

Only available through Chat, which can drop at any moment and you lose connection; IMS if it is not “temporarily disabled” due to a high volume of contacts; or e-mail which can take several days to respond and if the instructions given do not solve your issue you have to continue to send e-mails, meanwhile your device is not working

I will say that they device was great when its features were functional - but now that my original plan is gone, its worthless.
