Many of the other reviews of this lens take several paragraphs to say essentially the same things: the lens is sharp, it has "superior build quality," it doesn't matter that it is slow, and its cheap for an L series lens; characteristics that make it the perfect lens for Canon fanboys or for folks that are moving up from stock lenses

f/4 L lens I purchased from Amazon and it works very well, but I like the idea of an image stabilized wide angle since I would like to more video work and this lens (16-35 is) looked very promising.
