All I can say is that I would highly recommend this PSU to anyone in the market

Do you have various hdds ? or fans ? and have a graphics card - if you do you may want to aim to a better psu

Overall, easily the best SFX PSU on the market at the moment

For example, the CPU power connector can be split in half to create a 4 pin connector instead of an 8 pin connector.-Fairly cheap ATX PSU compared to other power supplies of this quality.-Comes with 4 screws to hold the power supply in and comes with Zip ties for cable management which was very useful.-Comes with plenty of extra cables for SATA

Quiet PSU

I give it 4 stars because it looks nice, is of high quality, performs well, and I would say is a perfect PSU for a lower end computer or even a higher end computer that doesn't consume a ton of power.

Since Corsair is one of the top PSU makers, I will for sure stick with them when upgrading.

I thought the price was very reasonable and so far this product has been reliable while my other PSU is being worked on.

(This is assuming you can find it at a good price - as in maybe half of the $90 that Corsair suggests it should sell for - you can get a much better PSU for $90).

My old PSU ( the F-16 jet I was referring to earlier) was able to push my processor up to 4.6 ghz and it would not crash on me, however that one was rated at 550w

Cables are sheathed to prevent the insulation from wearing off, and it's large fan is quiet and does a good job of keeping the PSU cool

but it this PSU is good for the price and not only the price it takes everything that I threw at

Its been like a month and 8 days since i bought this item, and it already blew out, i am not satisfied with the product, I was in the middle of a Rocket league game and all of sudden *POP* dead psu, sounded like something popped, scared me to death.

I don't know if I just got a defective psu or if the molex connector is supposed to provide more power, either way everything is currently running now without problems so far.

Well all I have to say is that this is a really sturdy PSU, the quality is noticeable to the naked eye

In a real life scenario where you'll be gaming for extended periods of time (where a case can get up to 60+C), the RMx PSU will be vastly more efficient, and generate less heat.

And the PSU is no louder then case fans as in I do not hear any increase in noise have dual fans push / pull on a 140mm Radiator 1 exhaust with 2 intake fans.

There's just one thing that's bugging me, but it hasn't affected performance or usability thus far, and that is, when I smell the PSU around the I/O switch, it smells like burned capacitors/electronics, I don't remember if it smelled that way out of the box

It's a HTPC, it's meant to go into a living room, advertising as a selling feature of it's 500 watt psu sorta makes you think the PSU is reasonably quiet for the living room

about 200W so the PSU stays mostly silent.

Meanwhile my PC is down for 2 weeks (so far) due to the failed PSU, and I had to purchase a replacement myself (another brand) despite the Corsair PSU warranty

The PSU has been running great and it's been running a bit cooler now that the CX500 isn't being pushed

But as for the VS550, if you are looking for a low cost, decent quality PSU that should last 5 years or more, the price is great and it should power any single GPU and any consumer level CPU without any issues.
