D-Link AC1200 Wireless WiFi Router – Smart Dual Band – Gigabit – MU-MIMO – High Power Antennas for Wide Coverage – Easy Setup – Parental Controls (DIR-842)

    • $10 more at the moment, better reviewed all around and heads and shoulders above this performance wise for me.
    • BUT the average performance of one of those is not great, companies oftentimes end up not giving you maximum speed capability with them, and they end up going on quickly
    • I restarted it multiple times, reset it, manually downloaded and installed the firmware from D-Links website, but the connection was still dropping randomly as well as having just terrible overall performance when it would connect
    • I would not hesitate to recommend this router for anyone looking to get top performance for a relatively low price.
    • The good: great performance and range! The bad: 1) Mobile and remote administration: Subpar compared to my old Linksys router
    • Great router - added significant performance elements to our ever-growing household of devices!
    • Performance is amazing and set up was super easy
    • Once set up the performance exceeded my expectations
    • AND the performance has been good
    • Was a pain to set up and had to update it to get optimal performance
    • Very easy to setup, great performance
    • There are higher performance router available, but this works perfect and it's only $100.
    • I restarted it multiple times, reset it, manually downloaded and installed the firmware from D-Links website, but the connection was still dropping randomly as well as having just terrible overall performance when it would connect
    • Performance wise, this router performs very well for its price range.
    • All in all this model offers great value and solid performance
    • Extremely poor performance even after hours of configuring options and channels.
    • The UI is fine, the performance is solid, but none of that matters because this thing is not reliable
    • I've used dozens of wired and wireless broadband routers over the years and while nearly all of them had poor UIs and convoluted setups, the thing that made me pull my hair out the most was inconsistent performance
    • I swapped out a Linksys Max-Stream AC 1900 router with very similar performance claims with this router and after a month or so of use, I have to say I really haven’t noticed any major performance differences that would lead to recommend one over the other
    • Because of their mumbling and tenuous at best grasp of English, neither of us understood each other most of the time) only to still have WiFi that was as slow as or slower than the 8 year old modem it was replacing.
    • Only lasted a year conveniently at the end of warranty, currently this point it no longer works as it should
