Dell Ultra HD 4k Monitor P2715Q 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor

    • My Dell screen would flicker when my desktop dimmed - freeze up (not very long) after waking - and bleed some windows through other windows
    • I was hesitant to purchase this monitor for use with a 2013 Mac Pro due to the other reviews of issues waking from sleep on Macs
    • and I'm extremely frustrated with the DP/mDP issue, and the wake up issue with Mac
    • You will then have to first move your mouse a few times, maybe push a few keys on the keyboard before you are sure it's not going to wake up, then power the monitor down and back up, and then wait for the monitor to get ready from a complete power off rather than the instantaneous waking up from a simply move of the mouse or a simple touch of a button
    • I have the A02 revision built in March of 2015 and it suffers from the infamous wake up from sleep problem
    • Great monitor for productivity, has some compatibility issues with Hackintosh though-waking from sleep occasionally this thing will freeze and needs to be unplugged, but if you're aware of that issue you can just turn it off and back on before it happens.
    • I run it in 2k mode (as I planned) because in 4k mode everything is too tiny of course, but in 2k mode I get extremely sharp text, almost as sharp as on an Apple retina display
    • It is not as sharp and contrasty as my other 27" IPS monitor (2560x1440) but that is mainly due to the antigloss coating, which was expected
    • Just as good as my 2015 Retina MB Pro screen, and if it's not the same, my eye cannot detect any difference
    • Great color, no noticeable bleed as of yet
    • Text is as crisp as on the Macbook Pro's built-in screen and color saturation looks more or less same to me
    • It works great with my mid-2014 MacBook Pro running at full 4K and 60hz in SST mode without a hitch
    • Only wish it supported 8K with 34"
    • Most graphics cards currently do not support the 4K, while this is changing, it does make the technology less appealing for some.
    • The text is also big enough that I can actually lean back now to view my monitor, where before I had to lean forward to use my old monitor, (which defaulted to a smaller 2560 x 1440 resolution).I also noticed scaled to full resolution (3840 x 2160 at 60hz refresh rate using DisplayPort), the MacBook starts to struggle a bit, so even though it technically supports that size, you will likely need a MacBook released in 2016/2017 to ensure it has enough power to smoothly drive 4K at its full resolution (though I doubt most people do so since the text and other elements are really small then). There also appears to be a slight shadow along the bottom edges (it may be more pronounced if you look at the monitor at a downward angle), which I read is normal for IPS monitors (it's even worse for monitors larger than 40 inches evidently), so I don't consider this a defect
    • Love the 4K, wow nice picture for a desk top, easier on the eyes as great definition
    • On the plus side, the quality is good (not outstanding like my 5K
    • K looks great on this monitor, although 4K content is fairly hard to find, especially since Safari does not support 4K on YouTube
    • (my screen has a native whitepoint which appears to be closer to 5700K), and I love it
    • One thing to note here is that I have a mid 2014 Macbook Pro 13" which doesn't support 4K at
    • Cable Male to Male 4K Ready - 6 Feet, Black
    • I considered the Acer G257HU because a friend uses it for editing as well but, decided to fork over the extra cash (a little over $100 more) for the extra resolution (4K vs 2K) and higher color support (1.07 Billion vs 16.7 Million)
    • On the plus side, the quality is good (not outstanding like my 5K
    • My 2006 graphics card didn't have a mini-display port to support 4K, and I also got a new GTX
    • I was waiting for 4K to become more affordable and also with a friendlier user experience
    • I've primarily used this monitor for gaming and really enjoyed the response time, colors and clarity you'd expect from an excellent 4K display
    • Contrary to a lot of rumors, this monitor is fast enough for video and gaming (8ms response on 4K)
    • Text looks almost as good as e-ink on a Kindle
