Elixir Strings 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings w NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053)

    • The g-string appears to be a bit more fragile than other string brands both light and medium gauge
    • I have a Yamaha FG-series acoustic guitar which sounds absolutely amazing, but with these strings it sounds a bit more like an electric guitar
    • I bought these Light-Medium strings mix for my Grand Concert bodied guitar to allow the highs to come through and help boost the bottom end a bit
    • Good long-lasting strings that are a bit more pricey but in the long run probably do one better.
    • But I like them quite a bit.
    • Well, I don't like the sound one little bit
    • A bit expensive.
    • They can be a bit more brittle than non coated, so if you hit them hard with a pick, more prone to break.
    • I tried these to see if my fingers slid a bit easier than with the D'Addario's I had been using.
    • When I first got a set of Medium gauge elixirs, I thought it was a bit much and immediately disliked them and went back to my old strings
    • While they certainly aren't subtle, I would no longer call them brash, and I've come around to enjoying playing them quite a bit
    • They're a little bit more expensive then other major string brands
    • The bottom sounds lacking and the stings seem a bit on the thick side
    • They're a bit more expensive then a normal pack of strings, but why compromise on something that makes up such a big part of the playing experience?
    • I admit that when you first start using them, they feel a bit "coated" and weird, but that quickly goes away.
    • The B string broke after 3 weeks of play (only about 1 week in the alternate tuning)
    • Finally, after only an hour of busking, the B strings broke
    • and I can not play for at least a day until my fingers can recover (I've been playing for five
    • I know they can, but, holy S**T !!
    • Buy a couple sets...you WON"T be disappointed :)
    • The high E string broke within a week while tuning
    • The only conclusion I can come to is that I received a defected E string
    • Sound great, look great, but I had them for 2 days before the E string and D string broke
    • The low-E and A strings lack the resonance and depth of
    • If I were to nit pick, low E string sounds weird and too rounded when you hit its harmonics
    • I was putting these on and my bottom E and B string both broke with barley any tension on them at all
    • The high e string broke as soon as I put it on
    • But I broke the high E and decided on these strings
