I own a 3880 and have a spare cartridge ready to go when the one that came with the printer fills up

As far as I know, all the pro-series printers (and that includes the 3880 and the P800) have a replaceable cartridge which can easily be replaced by the user when prompted.

The folks complaining about 'finite life' issues with their Epson printers do not have a replaceable ink maintenance cartridge in those printers.

I print mostly for my own use, as well as from time to time for some non-profits that I do volunteer work for, so I am a non-professional user.
