You can turn the sound all the way down/off on the unit, but then you have to wait for enough noise to trip up the noise detection on the camera which then beeps loudly for 10 seconds and covers up the screen with an alert window

There is a constant static noise that comes from the monitor, even when there is no noise coming from the room with the camera

It will sound an alert if it detects loud noises, crying, etc. coming from the room.

We did have an issue with terrible 'white noise' in the first camera we received

so you dont have to hear static noise all night

The biggest issue is that it will randomly lose connectivity even when it is in the same spot and will make a loud beeping noise.

The failed camera was making an intermittent clicking noise and would not steadily connect to the handheld unit.

The monitor makes a terrible humming noise

However I think ours had a defect in audio with constant unclear/glitchy noise, which I never noticed until one time I forgot to turn on the nursery sound machine.

every time it goes off and every time the screen is woken up the camera itself makes a loud obnoxious click noise and wakes my baby up even though I set it up on the opposite side of the room for this reason

But a few weeks later the camera started making a loud clicking noise so our little one kept waking

And before you ask, the monitor is not close to the camera or even in the same room, but it’s that terrible noise other monitors make if you are in the room with the camera

But while that may be true - you can set an "alarm" tone for the monitor if there is loud noises from the baby, and that tone can be set loud enough that you DEFINITELY hear it over the shower or doing dishes etc

The connection is SOLID nothing worse than a camera not connecting and making an extremely loud alert noise saying its not connecting to the camera while your baby is sleeping

Reception range is not nearly as big as advertised (though that seems typical).We also encountered a receiver problem that caused the battery to run down quickly (and eventually not hold a charge and make weird feedback noises on startup)

However, we noticed that each time we awakened/lit up the screen to check on our baby, it'd make a loud click noise on the camera end and it'd almost always startle our daughter - even with her white noise machine going

Unless I am missing something, there is not a feature whereby it will only make noise when the baby is crying (it’s either all sounds or no sound)

When I received the item it had a noise issue where it would hum loudly when I turned the volume up

As a back up the monitor has a sound alert function which notifies us with an annoying ringing which you must reset every time the baby makes an audible noise

I also tried a vtech and hated the extra features that made the sound and pic shut off and make a loud beeping noise when it wakes up

It will drop for a 1/2 second and reconnect so its not an issue.3) Range of motion in the camera is exactly as they describe, its great and doesnt make any loud noises or anything to wake your baby (not like they can hear anything past the obnoxious blaring white noise machine anyway) :)I have not tried the additional wide angle lens yet as i have not had the need to; maybe when he is a toddler but cant comment on that so far.4
