The factory OC is more than enough to give the everyday gamer enough power to drive any game at ultra in most resolutions
I enjoyed the cards power but the company, the rma, and there cooling solution is where gigabyte will always fall short
Very powerful card, I only wish it had more available power to attain higher stable overclocks but for the Price compared to some of the other manufactures this is a great 1080, I plan in the future to pick up a second one to SLI with, and very stable temps I might add the cooler design here is great and efficient, so far I have not run into any issues of Coil whine or throttling, even when using an overclocked frequency, I went out on a limb going with gigabyte, I had always been a fan of M
Well worth the slight increase in core temps, in my opinion for better cooled and longer lasting power circuitry.-Unlike reference models (including the MSI Seahawk), this comes with much better VRM circuitry, so you will never run into the power limiter while overclocking
I assumed they could spin slower with the same cooling power
so clearly its amazons good job. see the videothe video quality gets hideous only after uploading it, so i posted the video on YouTube, just search this on YouTube "GIGABYTE GTX 1080 From AMAZON !!
Gigabyte has done a good job of keeping this card cool even while running the most demanding games.
The heatsink is massive and it does an exceptional job keeping the card cool
Because this card is a 1080 it has plenty of power and does a good job at keeping frame rates high
The performance on this card is phenomenal, even before being overclocked
It's quiet, has top notch cooling performance, and looks great
My system booted and everything looked fine until I ran a game and it became immediately obvious that my graphics performance was poor (11 fps in GTA5), so I ran a Basic Uningine Heaven Benchmark test and got a score of 1357 (53.9fps)
Incredible performance, but unnacceptable connectivity issues
It is able to overclock very well; I am able to achieve +100 on the core and +300 on the memory and the temperature hasn't exceeded 63°C while gaming
Coolermaster 130Superfast overclock just out of the boxLow tempsQuiet fanCons:Only thing wrong is the installation cd came in way blank
Even running overclock, this thing purs like a kitten and never gets anywhere near high temps doing benchmarks
This thing stays cool all the time, no matter what I throw at it it never gets hot
All in all, this was a very pleasant experience, and I definitely recommend it, if your pockets are lined deep enough - this thing is expensive, and that is about the only 'con' I can think of at this moment, which of course doesn't have anything to do with its operation, but I thought it worth mentioning.
Worst thing is the coil whine, it is insanely loud when playing a game and when you alt-tab out of a game onto your desktop the coil whine stops, but the second you go back in game it comes back again
The fans on this hardly ever need to turn on to cool it and when they do its hardly 10-15% cause this thing runs my games on 1080p like a beast.
For the money this thing is awsome and know with what I'm doing it know my friends where lying about running there games in
I'm not a "bleeding edge" gamer, I do enjoy flight simulators, and this will let me max out all the settings on XPlane and it doesn't break a sweat.
~ 1440p competitive above 100FPS, i get 80 to 144hz on most of my games, which is plenty, very smooth game play, low power draw, and stays much cooler than my previous water cooled R9
well, CS:Go and all other games were just as impressive.
Excellent performance• VR ready• Can handle ALMOST any game on high settings• Lighting is a nice touch but can be difficult to sync with other peripheralsCons:• Can get pretty loud• Software

The lighting is a nice touch with a windforce logo that lights up with full RGB color controls.
This edition comes with a pretty slick RGBLED Gigabyte logo that can be controlled via proprietary software (similar to EVGA's Precision software).Seriously, I have little to say
It should not have been that complicated to find the proper software
Doom, Crysis 3, Far Cry 4, you name it, and I can guarantee it averages way above 100fps in 1080p as it did for me

As in, You need software to tune this bad boy to lower speeds otherwise the game freakin' crashes (I recommend the MSI Afterburner software for this)
So I set the fan speeds to max and the fans had a screeching noise that I don't think anyone could stand, also they coil whining on this GPU may be the worst of all 1080's
At first I was all excited to get this card that I put up with the fact that the fans made a grinding noise as they cycled from off to on with the fan stop functionality
The fans (3 of them) are dead quiet and don't even spin at idle, normal workloads
before I forget, if you read the docs on the 1080 you will learn it's cooling fans are shut off until the 1080's temperature starts to climb.
To my surprise the card runs cool at all times and the fan is barely audible.
under load is infinitely quieter, but the pump noise that is clearly audible during idle makes it not ideal for those looking for silent computing
There was some worry about noise, but mine is perfectly quiet - no unusual pump noise or anything
I was skeptical to buy this water-cooled 1080 after everything I researched and seen about the pump noise
The best way that I can describe the pump noise is to imagine the sound of a salt/pepper grinder, which makes sounds every half-second or so.-In addition to pump noise, the fan is extremely noisy when it spins up to high RPMs

The first issue was that the fans were making grinding noises.
When I received my product, I reinstalled the card but only to find that the fans were still making the grinding noises.
I spent $650 on a video card with fan stop functionality as it advertised to be quiet and instead I get an annoying grinding noise that comes and goes

I launched Car Mechanic Sim 2018 and battletech and Need for Speed Payback and i heard annoying Coil whine sounds
The fan is defective, it makes an annoying clicking sound whenever it's
Is is a little bit noisy (sound like the rustle of paper) but overall this is a very good card.
It’s not audible at 33%, probably because the wind sounds cover it
