My Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 work perfectly with this (unlike the LinkS which was always hit or miss from day 1 - probably an early indication that it was dying)
I tried the device with 3 "compatible" Nexus devices to output over hdmi to a Samsung TV, LG TV, and a 1080p computer monitor
I ordered a kanex slimport thru their site and not amazon as I was unable to confirm that amazon was selling the updated slimport that's assured to be nexus 7 compatible.
I would highly recommend this adapter for anyone with a Nexus 7 2013 works perfect

As soon as it came in, I plugged it into the tablet, fired up the mini HDMI projector, and everything worked as expected.

so the first thing i did when i got this, i connected hdmi to monitor that was on and set to the appropriate video input, then the other end to my nexus 5 while it was off.
I specifically ordered fromAnalogix because of good youtube video demos.
Video works for about 2 minutes at a time (even less if you move the tablet or cord one millimeter while it's on)

Stay away of this one if you can, do yourself a favor and buy another brand, hit and miss quality product

This product did not work for me
my data transfer over data cable does not crap out when I'm holding the phone while it's moving data, WHY should the SlimPort adapter?This is a potentially good product that may get a bad name due to bad QC, since most other users have given this a stellar review
Product works as advertised but charging rate is too slow to keep up with the phone and the phone eventually runs out of juice

With the slimport connected it shows a slow charging notification, and via battery monitor it is only sending 34mah to the phone
I purchased this to use with my Nexus 4, and it's much easier to use, as well as being higher-resolution/framerate than anything I've used
This does mean that you'll need to have enough charge to start with before watching a movie, and that having the tablet plugged into a charger whilst doing so will only slow down the battery discharge
cheap....actual charging was a slow charge and it broke in less than a year
It does charge my phone, but its a slow USB charge (which makes sense) but most any nondirect current will be a slower charge
