The hardest part is that the slides have to be cleaned quite well - the scanner will pick up dust and other imperfections - it is very sensitive (that is a positive thing)

Needed an inexpensive and easy way to digitize old negatives and slides.

The results are great and quickly converted to JPG which then can be edited with software on your PC/Laptop

This product works really well for my slides but not so good on my Super8 film

This is a cheap piece of equipment packaged as an expensive product

The buttons are very loud when clicked which makes the product sound cheap and poorly made

Perhaps this unit is defective, but I'm returning and not willing to try out a new unit.

I liked ths unit because it showed the negative as a picture, it could of used a larger viewer, for some negatives were larger than the unit takes, but all in all in saved me a ton of money.

If you're a photography buff, you're probably looking at more expensive, higher resolution units anyway, but for people in need of an inexpensive solution to digitizing their collections, I think this is a great option

I see that Amazon is selling much cheaper units that appear to have the same specs

I received a defective item, with a huge smear of adhesive (I think) directly across the lens, showing clearly in the scans.

I'm not one to fuss over photo quality but was amazed at how good the slides transferred to jPeg format.

I have scanned hundreds of slides with never before seen family pictures, and I am able to share these precious memories with family for the first time

Scans of slides and negatives are fuzzy, out of focus, and have gray cast, from sharp, true color slides

Therefore, the bright colors in my Kodachrome slides is lost

BUT - the vibrant color on the slides is lost due to the machine "correcting" the color

There are only two things wrong with the result: Poor color and poor resolution

Even without the right colors, I could tell that the scans were not crisp and I suspect the color wouldn't be any better than with the negatives

The images were very blurred, I contacted Kodak and they acknowledge the receipt of my concern but never get back to me with any suggestion or answer.

Capturing the digital image is easy; editing the images is also easy and is providing me with better quality digital images than the original 35mm slides!

The scanner is fast and produces excellent digital images.

This little negative scanner is really terrific for 35mm negatives and slides, but is a bit tricky to feed 110 negatives through unless they are at least 4 or 5 pictures in a single strip -- and, sadly, the processors of 110 film were not very careful about that.

The Slide Holder is a bit fragile and will hang up if you don't load properly, but once I realized this glitch I made sure each slide was right side up.

72 dpi is the highest resolution available for 35mm negatives.

I've tried just fine (35mm monochrome, color, and slides), but I would've liked an ejection rod of sorts for handling individual frames (with or without a slide).
