I must have been tired when I did it because I had a difficult time finding the on/off switch, but a second pair of eyes discovered it under a connection already made and the installation proceeded without any further difficulty.

I had a hard time deciding on a router, when my previous router from another brand began to go bad with dropped signals, since most of the router reviews were very mixed

Of courses, I can't really blame the company for the bad timing - I have come to assume that these pieces of crap can fail at anytime - but I certainly learned my lesson about buying this brand

Even if you're sitting right next to it, you can lose signal and often times, the router will just reset or refresh itself kicking off any connected devices.

We noticed immediately that our laptop has a very difficult time connecting to the internet as well.

Sometimes it refuses to connect and even when it does, it takes a long time to connect

The last time I checked, the computer that I was actually working on and administering the router, wasn't listed in the attached devices (the LAN devices/computers/etc that are connected to the router right now).8

The only trouble I had with it was that I had a very hard time getting it to connect to the internet on my Comcast cable modem

I have contacted support several times and they pretty much act like they've never heard of such an issue existing and offer super useful tips like making sure default settings are still default (which they where).

Netgear was a hassle to contact and happy to waste my time indefinately on this issue.

- they tell you to call the same number back until you get someone in USA - after 8 hours and getting India every time I threw the piece of crap away and decided never to buy another netgear product.- CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING

Now it loses internet connection 3 times a day

Bottom line, don't waste any time on this product, even though it seems like a good value.

I've only been using it f short time but it works better than the Linksys router I previously had.

The second time ruined my entire day on a Monday

The internet connection was unstable ALL THE TIME

It was what I expected and arrived in good time.

It constantly stops working, about a couple times a month, and drops off the wireless connection list

My first Netgear WNR-854T worked fine for a month and just quit.
