In the future I will try other music sources and I will also try rolling other tube pairs like older 6688s.

Even though the tubes are on the preamp stage, you can definitely hear the "smoothness".The tubes that were included are cheap Chinese tubes, and they definitely sound great.

I wish I'd torn the thing down and looked at it before I ordered more expensive/rare tubes (NOS Valvo E180F black plates made by Mullard) as I could have saved myself a lot of money, now I've just got a pair of tubes sitting here that I honestly don't even want to put into this amplifier because there's no point

The only two reasons I didn't give this Five Stars is because 1) the stock Chinese tubes this comes with are pretty terrible and 2) I had to buy a 3.5mm headphone extender adapter b/

It's quite clean; while it does add a little bit of desirable "tube sound" (which is a type of distortion), which results in a warmer, fuller sound, perhaps with a small amount of extra bass, it still passes along detail quite well

This is not only bad because it is a "hybrid" tube amp, it is a very, very bad tube amp.

I have done listening tests with and without the Nobsound, and it's no contest, the Nobsound with good tubes wins every time regardless of source.

Recommend better tubes, stock Chinese are not horrible but bought some NOS Amprex PQs and had instant improvement.

It does function, and it gets loud, but even the slight vibrations from typing on my keyboard are enough to make the tubes shake and you can hear the tubes pick the vibration and deliver it as a nice ring in your cans.

Regardless, the tube stage does add a bit of that famous tube (aka valve in UK) distortion - which apparently translates to warmth, etc.

That's not a problem, and actually pretty efficient, considering you get the warm tube sound without the bulk of having even larger output tubes for a small headphone amplifier.
