Do I buy an HTC Vive to get the "complete" experience now or do I get the Oculus Rift and wait for the Touch controllers to get the more "comfortable" VR experience

Overall if you don't mind the expense, or if you already have a gaming PC with a big video card, it's an amazing experience.

It is similar to what some recreation parks offer (Universal, Disney) where surround and 3D makes a great experience.

Experience is awesome, but they need better resolution

Individually, I can get immersed in PCars or look at some 360 degree pictures of a scenic landscape, and then I move on to other, more substantive entertainment experiences

This is a very polished product - the lifecycle of VR is only just beginning - its not photo realistic 4k or wireless and both of those will come - but this thing can transport you to a realistic experience of a new world.

I know full well that a third sensor and bigger room will create a better experience, also open up a wide array of Steam VR games I can't play because of said space

There's no bad frame rate and it's a great experience on the 2017 iMac fully maxed if you have the 580 you should be fine.

They fall apart quickly, experience and enormous number of bugs and it is impossible to get assistance on fixing and troubleshooting them when you do encounter issues.

So Install Windows 10 on bootcamp and get a good USB C to hdmi and your good to go
