I bought this instead of a wireless stick as I was hoping to have more consistent streaming since WiFi can fluctuate in my house.

and I wanted a device that would offer me the widest range of available streaming apps or channels.

There are other quirks I have noticed, which is probably applicable to all streaming devices, like uneven volume from one app to another which is annoying, but overall, I've been very pleased and wish I had bought a Roku sooner.

i am astounded by all the positive reviews - clearly, these people have only tried roku and don't know how much better their streaming could be

We were blown away by all the streaming content available (much of it free, like the CW network) with the Roku!

The functionality of the Roku is great while streaming, but there are issues with the Roku business model and the design that definitely keep this from earning 4 or 5 stars.

While there are some streaming issues that arise from time to time, pix-elation and momentary blackouts, we have never not been able to watch a show to the end.

Hopefully, this issue does get resolved quickly because it really is a good streaming device in every other sense but the video/audio department.

The Premier+ seems to provide a better streaming picture as well.

This Roku is very fast compared to the older Roku 2.I use a wired connection and suffer only occasional buffering (probably due to internet congestion); the streaming of 4K work well with a gorgeous picture

But after reviewing the Roku device, and similar devices from Apple, Amazon and Google, I found that unlike the others, the Roku did not intentionally exclude competitor's sources (you cannot stream Amazon on the Apple or Google devices, you cannot stream Apple or Google on the Amazon devices, although nobody supports Apple streaming

Roku has been my preferred media streaming box for nearly 6 years, but this is the first time I've been disappointed with one

For example, when I connect to Netflix using Roku on a 4K/HDR TV it turns screen TV black on and off, then when I try to select a movie, the screen keeps changing before I could even select a movie, then turns black on and off, again; however, I could watch Netflix threw Netflix included on the Smart TV streaming
