From now on, when I watch Netflix on my Samsung Smart TV, I use the Bluray player instead the smart tv app.

I set up the DCH app for our Favorite, since we watch it so much, and the convenience and speed of starting the app is quite stunning

I am not a big Sony fan after my last Sony Blu-Ray lasted only a short while, but I liked what I saw in the reviews, especially the internet connectivity and the inclusion of the Berlin Philharmonic app. as well as the popular apps, Amazon and Netflix, etc.

It freezes switching apps, and it freezes mid video

least favorite app is youtube, or it might be amazon, it sort of depends on what day it is, it locks up the most when you have a low speed internet connection, while I've had this I switched to a faster one and it worked a lot better, it still locks up on youtube sometimes but now it's not nearly as unlivable.

I love having multiple apps available- which is handy when the Firestick or Roku act up.

This works well with the Plex app on the Roku stick, but was an issue using a similar app from Sony to stream the content from my home computer.

Super price and quality, 3-D, 4K ready, great picture, and available apps...

Other apps have also crashed it and made it completely unresponsive.

There is a dedicated Netflix button that brings you right to that app and a Favorites button for which you can assign favorite apps

If there were only some way to add favorite apps not on their (restricted) list...

Gave as a gift with the intent that the person could use the Sling TV app; however, It sounds like The Sling app is not supported

The apps that it does have works well Netflix, Amazon etc, pretty good buffering time and function.

It comes with a very large assortment of popular apps that work well

I really like some of the available apps, like the Red Bull sports channel app, a lot of content on that one with no commercials

Sound drops constantly while watching Netflix and the apps freeze up and refuse to load.

I like that it includes Vudu as well as the other popular apps; many smart players do not.

Speaking of your phone, Sony has a really nice iOS or Andorid app called TV Sideview, which will turn your phone into a nice multifunctional remote for the BDP6500 that has a trackpad and keyboard, and all of the physical remote functions as well

Plentiful apps menu was an unexpected bonus with a web browser which is quite functional on simple sites.

I was very disappointed to find that there is NO Vimeo app available, as it has been for previous models

It does what I need very well, has a small footprint and has an array of useful apps

I can easily reassign the Favorite app

I use it mainly for Netflix and it has a great app capability

So no big deal it doesn't have a bunch of odd ball apps.

On any of my other devices, these apps work quite well

The added apps like "Netflix", "Hulu" and "Amazon" streaming etc., are nice, but it is not a replacement for an actual Roku device

Let me count the ways I like this player: size, remote, functionality, integration, smart apps, 4K Upscaling resulting in near 4K display, screen mirroring, and Wi-Fi functions

Its compatible alright, but so slow as the be unusable

Now, on to more important issues for this new S6500: performance is very high for Blu-Ray (regular and 3D), for older DVDs as well as for streaming (Amazon Prime)

Its fast, it works as it should, doesn't freeze up, my wife loves how easy to operate it is and the netflix button is a great option, we are very pleased
