The mechanism itself performs well and the sound is as one would expect from a hundred-dollar turntable; but that's OK because the dynamic range of the typical record (excepting those produced by top-of-the-line studios and equipment)is such that when the sound is transferred to digital media, the recording will probably be disappointing anyway if one is into sound reproduced professionally.

This leads to problem 2,you cannot simultaneously listen to vinyl as you record it

This (regardless of what others may have said) was extremely easy to set-up, as well as great for recording my record collection!

The recorded tunes have no hiccups or scratchy, hissing sounds(thanks to the software and a cleaning kit with the record liquid cleaner and brush purchased at the same time)

Would recommend to anyone looking for a good record player.

In regards to the needle, clean your records beforehand

The software prompts settings and make sure you set it to line out to get the best recording.

I have a few close-to-irreplaceable records that I want to convert to digital format which is why I went hunting for a turntable I could connect to my PC and also be able to eventually connect it to our regular stereo system

It may not be the most glamorous in regards to looks, but a solid record player.

Get a more reliable record player.
