Love his version of the remakes he did..
-
Willie's version of these standards is wonderful.
-
Few of these tracks measure up to the inspiration of the original Stardust, but there are highlights, including a gypsy-jazz country-blue version of "I'm Confessin' (That I Love You)," a downbeat, pre-Stardust take of "Lucky Old Sun," and a romantically yearning cover of "Mona Lisa" that features guitar runs reminiscent of Anton Karas' zither in The Third Man
-
and I love Willie's version the best.
-
This newer release has two bonus tracks, and I believe "Scarlet Ribbons" is one of the loveliest versions I have ever heard.
-
His version of 'Georgia On my Mind' is an all-time classic
-
Love his version of Georgia...
-
THE best version I have ever heard
-
The original singer was Margaret Whiting, and while I now prefer her version, I might never have discovered her music if it wasn't for this album and its sequel
-
It was a change from his predominately CW repertoire and showed that he could also do entertaining versions of the great pop standards.
-
The version of "Georgia On My Mind" is a peach and as it delivered with great passion and pace, not too fast and not too labored.
-
Although it is a brilliant version, it is just a different style from the other songs here
-
His versions of "Moonlight In Vermont," "All of Me," "Stardust," and "Unchained Melody" are every bit as good.
-
His version of Stardust is excellent, but I really bought the entire album for his version of Moonlight on Vermont.
-
I love Willy's version of these classics.
-
Good versions of non country tunes.
-
If you like "The Great American Songbook" this version of some of the best from that body of work is also essential
