I bought the album when it was originally released in 1978 because of another Willie Nelson song that I liked, and this album was a dramatic departure from what I thought I liked.

Willie really hit gold with this album when it was released in 1978.I recall hearing it for the first time on a Church Youth Group bus trip to South Dakota from my home in Denver, Colorado in about 1979.We had about 5 tapes to play on the bus, and this one got played a lot on that trip
