Uniden BC355N 800 MHz 300-Channel Base/Mobile Scanner. Close Call RF Capture Technology. Pre-programmed Service Search. “Action” Bands to Hear Police, Ambulance, Fire, Amateur Radio, Public Utilities, Weather, and More.

    • This model has much more channel capacity with 100 different frequencies capable of being stored in the private settings for my county.
    • It takes a lot of effort to find the right frequency and then the next day, gone again.
    • This allows the scanner to cycle through the "important" frequencies at a faster rate.
    • I bought this scanner because I needed more programmable channel space for my important frequencies other than just 50 channels which was all that my old scanner had or would let me program.
    • I had to send it back as it wasn't able to pick up the right 800mhz frequency's
    • too noisy, could not regulate or find channels, even though we had the correct frequencies, so I returned the one plus a spare some one inadvertently sent
    • I expected for this scanner to let me program all of my important frequencies into the one bank that is most important & the most useful on this scanner
    • I especially like the private bank to store my favorite frequencies in for quick access
    • " i.e.; you can program your favorite frequencies into this band, and turn off all other banks
    • Too, you can't eliminate or lock out all of the frequencies you don't want to scan because there is a numerical limit to how many frequencies the scanner will ignore
    • Yes, it is possible to lock out these unwanted frequencies, but depending on your location the number of unwanted frequencies may exceed the maximum number of frequencies you are allowed to lock out
    • Hit HOLD once while it scanning the Air band then use up and down to get the correct frequency, in my case 124.50
    • this means is that if you need to program more than 100 channels/frequencies onto this scanner, you'll have to program the other +100 of your scanner frequencies into these other shared banks/categories which then means that you cannot just listen to your own private/important frequencies that you have programmed in these shared banks on this scanner...
    • The 800 MHz frequencies are basically useless in my area though because they are secured/scrambled
    • This means that you may not even hear anything that is going on with your important programmed frequencies in these other two Banks because there will be too much other noise & things going on under these shared banks/categories for you to hear anything that is going on with your programmed frequencies that you needed or wanted to program & listen to for your purposes
    • and I was listening to all kinds of cool frequencies within minutes
    • 19 for example), and c) a pretty fast scan rate, and d) a very sensitive receiver.
