Cloned a HDD with bad sectors into a new HDD in no time
-
If the drive was in good operation Acronis worked fine, for drives with lots of bad sectors ShadowProtect seems to do a better job
-
Worked ok as a docking station, just make sure you do a scandisk before putting it in the device, it can't handle bad sectors.
-
I started doing some testing on the HDD or SSD thinking there was a bad sector or some kind of damage but all the scans and tests came up negative
-
I purchased this duplicator to as it clones both 512 byte and 4KB physical sector hard drives
-
this time quickly got 4 RED LED’s .. and everything works great..
-
Like the re-cycling of “power’ .. to shift modes from dock to clone… and the wait time to mount a drive.. and what to expect from the LED’s at each step
-
Was a little concerned that the 4 RED LED’s never came on while the clone button was pressed
-
NO red LED’s appeared … got tired.. released the button.. and the amber (running back and forth) started …
-
Kind of an 'uh duh,' but your own hard disk(s) need to be provided to make these claims true.

I tried a cloning without the USB cable connected .. there were no examples of what to expect from the LED’s prior to
