(No, it won't punch 300 pages at a whack--I said good, not spectacular.
They'll hold well over 700 pages of regular printer paper, though keeping it down to 300 makes a less precarious package

Their limitations are: cosmetically plain, not presentation quality; not suitable for easily inserting pages at any point as is done with a 3 ring binder; only moderately durable cardboard cover, not suitable to very heavy usage

Three ring binders rip the holes of the card protector sheets, and since binders don't hold snug to the page, cards can come loose easily.
Simply three hole punch your papers, slide them into the metal fasteners and put the other side of the folder back on
Punch the holes a bit lower than usual, so the pages align with the bottom edge of the cover
