Great gameplay, action packed, and it's alot like the other Batman games combat wise
Pretty good, it has great gameplay, and the graphics aren't bad either
The gameplay and graphics are great and it really captures the tone and feel of the console versions of the Arkham games without the DS version limitations being too noticeable.

Arkham Origins Blackgate may not be a title worthy of sharing the same stage as Metroid Prime, or even the first two Arkham games, but it's still a solid and rewarding experience
A cumbersome story, lots of terrible bugs, unresponsive controls and a general lack of care hampered what, in its roots, could have been a great, really fun experience (which it was, when the game worked properly)

Controls are mostly responsive, although the button assignments don't always make sense, and the 3D effect fine.
My biggest gripe is that several things don't make sense in the game, like why Batman isn't so prepared when he gets to Arkham and why WayneTech crates full are all over a maximum-security prison with all kinds of Bat-gadgetry
The fights may begin with many cheap deaths and frustration, but they generally end with a strong sense of satisfaction
There is a clear and gratifying sense of progression as Batman gains new items and keys, and it becomes clear early on in the game that this is one aspect of the Metroid Prime games that Armature's developers still master

Regardless, Blackgate makes a solid addition to the 3DS' already great library of games and makes for a reasonably good start to Armature's future in gaming, and should be picked up by any hardcore fans of Batman or Metroidvania games alike.
Still, the game is a blast to play, and a great addition to any collection.
A nice addition to the recent Batman: Arkham games.

From one screen to the next, if you don't you'll miss some super minor thing and have to traverse the environment again (with no quick travel) just to find out you overlooked some tiny thing in detective vision

I think the wisest thing Nintendo did was make the 3DS games playable regardless if the 3D is on or not

Its challenging enough yet not extremely hard to get through the levels

Secret areas and collectibles are plentiful, and there are some clever puzzles, unlike the ridiculously easy Enigma challenges in Origins
The challenge of obtaining an upgrade is often puzzle-like and may require some backtracking at a later date, making it all the more rewarding when the item is finally reached
