In fact, the microfiber material is the best material for dust cleaning as it is able to trap dust very efficiently and does not shed
This is our chosen material as:- It is very lightweight so it adds zero pressure to our piano keys.- The most efficient material in dust cleaning and trapping dust particles- Optic quality microfiber ensures no scratches to the surface of our piano keys even on weighted contact- We do not see the need for the piano key cover to be thick as it serves no specific purpose
Wool/felt has fibres which are thicker and much more coarse (you can feel it with your hands) and in fact, if rubbed against polished surfaces for long enough, will gradually leave small scratches
This is also the reason why we do not clean spectacles, lenses or pianos with wool
