Get the old-school plain clear ones with no fancy arm, the ones we all grew up using - sometimes innovation for its own sake does NOT make a product better.
Mechanically, this is a pretty nice swing-arm protractor, but the colors do cause issues.
The arm is easy to use and very accurate.

My only concern is that I got a blue, very dark blue color on it (instead of the light green color shown in picture) and it is hard to see/read the numbers
Mechanically, this is a pretty nice swing-arm protractor, but the colors do cause issues.
My came with the dark blue color strip, and even under bright light on white paper, it was impossible to see the numbers.
As other reviewers have noted, the dark blue color background color makes it difficult to use.
Mine came in a dark blue color which is nice except if you are using anything but bright white paper, it is impossible to see the numbers (even against a lightly colored pine wood board)
