Hosa XVM-115F XLR3F to Right-Angle 3.5 mm TRS Microphone Cab... - 2024 report by Whydis
Hosa XVM-115F XLR3F to Right-Angle 3.5 mm TRS Microphone Cable, 15 feet
Length:15 Feet
The Hosa XVM Female XLR to Right Angle TRS 1/8" Cable cable is designed to a connect a microphone with an XLR output to a mini stereo phone input. It is ideal for connecting a pro mic to a DV camera or portable audio recorder.
I use it to plug an XLR microphone into my Zoom H1 recorder - the right angle 3.5mm plug is a good feature for this application since the mic input is on the side of my device.
I also wanted to get the right-angle (L-shaped) plug to reduce stress on the audio port.
A right angle XLR plug might improve the situation, but maybe not for all applications.
The wire is quite thick for a cable with a 1/8" plug at the end and the right-angle plug is convenient
The right angle connection saves space on the side of my camcorder
This works really well to swap the lav mic with and then with another XLR to 1/4 inch adaptor I can plug right into a board and get direct wireless audio
This works surprisingly well, but there some hiss... may be the camera jack.

For anyone looking for a cheap way to connect an xlr mic to a laptop, you need a converter/preamp that boosts the gain/signal, or a quality soundcard
It gives a very clear signal, with little to no distortion.
Would it have cost more than an additional $0.05 to use a two-conductor plus ground shielded cable to connect the XLR to the mini and maintain proper signal segregation through the adapter cable?Bottom line: Yes, it works half-assed
The hot signal XLR pin 2 connector is wired to the Tip and Ring of the TRS connector and the pin 3 and pin 1 are tied to the ground sleeve of the 3.5 mm plug

Great and handy product for attaching pro mics to my DSLR & video cameras!
Product exceeded expectation and was delivered as promised!
2 OnStage mic foams was dented but thankfully this product itself was not damaged.
This is a fine product except for some smartphones the shoulder on the connector is too wide, so the trs connector doesn't fully and properly insert... causing poor audio if you get any at all.
It works great with my canon vixia hfr400 for getting great sound from interviews and testimonals with the shotgun mic.
solid build, great quality, for me and what we use it for, great sound
It doesn't rattle around at all, and it supports awesome quality sound
I bought this XLR cable to connect to my pc to replace another cable that I had to use a converter and this sounds better & louder than the original cable that came with my mic.
I have to apply noise reduction, which muddies the sound
Nice item which works well but it should have heat shrink strain relief on microphone XL connecter.
It's a pretty good item, I'm just failing to see how people aren't mentioning it not actually being a foot long
I highly recommended this item, because you avoid to have all the noices, when you used a shipper one,
I bought this cable, Hosa item number XVM-115F, to connect a Shure VP64AL Omnidirectional Handheld Microphone to a Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera (Black).
First item was defective, but freely replaced by Amazon.
