Reviews around buy (5.00 of 5)

  • So, more then a year later I still think it's an excellent buy, especially at a great price that Amazon offers.
  • i've manually calculated interest rates, time value of money, discounts, and compounding figures and this calculator makes it all so much easier.it's a great buy for an average person who wants to take control of their finances and decide where to invest their money for the best returns.don't buy it from HP because their customer service is terrible.
  • The HP10bII is one of the most reliable financial calculator models and is a great buy for under $20
  • Seemed like a good buy but it does not display enough decimals

Reviews around hp (5.00 of 5)

  • That is, one would probably be aware whether they needed to opt for the pricier and more powerful HP 12c before they began shopping; which is not to say that the 10bII could not be outgrown
  • Despite that, I find the HP is the better of the two choices that can be used on the CMA exam because when I do quick calculations it actually registers on the screen, unlike the TI which may give "
  • The HP is also smart about combining sequences of keystrokes intelligently to create additional shortcuts.
  • i would recommend the HP for anyone taking beginner finance, but if you intend to go farther, get the Texas version.
  • After purchasing the HP 10bII, which I was satisfied with, I learned there was an

Reviews around answer (5.00 of 5)

  • HP is supposedly sending on via Fed Ex, but in the meantime, I've discovered that on many of the example problems I can input the exact key strokes provided in the work/study book and don't get the correct answer.
  • I would say of all the components of the curriculum, I am most confident about my ability to get the right answer when it involves using this calculator
  • So, if you do a lot of calculations with N as a partial year, you will never get the correct answer with the 12C. As for the quality of the calculator, I have had no problems with mine.
  • You can also set the calculator to display up to nine decimal places, so you can get the most accurate answer to your calculations
  • I can get the correct answer on the 12C and on my friend's calculator, but not on the one I purchased.

Reviews around design (5.00 of 5)

  • I personally prefer the old design, but I really like the way the important functions--Present Value, Future Value, Payment, Interest,
  • To me, the two designs seemed like a trade-off between build quality and speed, in which the HP went for quality and the TI went for speed.
  • The class in part walked me through the usage of the function keys, but it's very durable, ergonomically well designed, and calculating power is very handy in real life situations.
  • Original review:This calculator is really well designed for quick use, and in the kingdom of the spreadsheet, you really want a calculator to be good at quick and dirty stuff
  • Very well built, solid and well designed, does what I need for Finance classes at college

Reviews around manual (4.53 of 5)

  • Although calculator was feature rich and came with great manual, thats about all that can be said for it.
  • It did not have a manual or the original boxing, but it works fine and is great.
  • but I would have liked to have the proper manual to use with it.
  • Very straightforward data entry and a very helpful manual
  • i can easily calculate interest payement and the manual was really helpful.no complains so far

Reviews around value (4.45 of 5)

  • Strongly recommended as the best value in inexpensive financial calculators.
  • Overall, I think it was a good value and a valuable tool for those who need a financial calculator.
  • I personally prefer the old design, but I really like the way the important functions--Present Value, Future Value, Payment, Interest,
  • Even though it seems to me rather elementary, it certainly can do well what it was designed to do; simple statistics and time value of money calculations
  • And it's as powerful as you need until you get into complicated

Reviews around price (4.20 of 5)

  • This is a terrific calculator at a great price and it feels like new
  • The 10bII is an excellent financial calculator at a great price
  • A nice experience plus a great product at a great price.
  • Like the subject: Great Price that would cost me $40-$50 if I bought in Canada for the same calculator.
  • This calc isn't the easiest to use; if you can get the HP 17b II+ at a cheap price or borrow it, then please by all means do so

Reviews around lcd (4.16 of 5)

  • This was a great calculator, but it must have been banged around too much in my backpack because the LCD has partially failed, losing some of the numbers
  • This HP has a great LCD screen that is viewable from most angles, like a "normal" calculator.
  • the high contrast and clearer LCD output display screen is the most noticeable improvement over its predecessor
  • on the generous LCD display and the HP10b2R also several display several on screen messages like "running", "good" and "error" - no kidding
  • Although still usable, the LCD of my 1993 made-in-Singapore HP10B had deteriorated, the screen had darkened and part of it "bleeding" and dimmed

Reviews around function (3.95 of 5)

  • Once you figure out how to work the functions it is great
  • I was not particularly impressed with the available functions, so I started looking at the
  • The other scientific functions are somewhat limited but it will do basic statistics and mathmatical problems and has programmable memory keys.
  • Though the unit has a 10 min auto shut off, what if you press another key while it's on in the slip?- Lacks certain math functions
  • it meets my expectation and it has appropriate functions for financial calculation

Reviews around thing (3.50 of 5)

  • The new 10BII has become my daily calculator (in finance biz) and it is nearly identical in layout, but with different button sizes, weight (much lighter...only thing I don't like) and a couple of button layout changes
  • i have to double check it everytime to make sure i have entered the right thing
  • You have to enter the multiplication sign, or the calculator won't give you the correct answer, which is ten; this is the only thing I don't like about the calculator, because I'd like to be able to enter equations like, 7(40-15) or (40-15)7.Still, I prefer this calculator over other financial calculators
  • Great basic calculator for financing, the only thing I do not like about it you have to press two keys instead of one to shut it off.

Reviews around bite (1.00 of 5)

  • The TI's keys have higher tolerances; they wobble a bit and have more travel
  • This feels (and sounds) cheaper and feels like it takes a LOT more pressure to assure the button registers which slows me down quite a bit.
  • The learning curve can be a bit difficult for some, but the payoff is well worth it.
  • One thing that did bug me a bit with the hp was that, in a quiet room at exam time, the hp's key clicking could be heard
