It's pretty much impossible to "break" this chain into smaller sections

I just knocked out one pin of a link to obtain the proper length then put the pin back in.

Although the pins are extremely hard to pop out in order to shorten the chain, the chain itself seems sturdy and reliable

If you don't have a chain break you can use your Dremel to grind the pin down to the plate and then punch it out with a drift pin
