My reed has not gone "bad" in several months of playing, where natural reeds sometimes only give me a few days.
Wooden reed quite expensive, and get wet through and stop working fast while practice (in my case), this one (plastic) is Ok
Overall, I think this is a great reed for a non-professional player.
If you use a 3 stiff reed normally you might want to try a 2.5 in this reed
