I would have preferred an unlimited plan (not offered for this device), or a pay-as-you-go plan where I could purchase a certain amount of data and use it for up to 12 months (also not available).

I purchased an AT&T 15GB plan for $75/month (this plan literally became available today - Aug 27, 2018).

It also comes with an antenna that has some long cord so I can move the antenna using the cube walls to a place that I am sure to get a great connection

We rented a house through VRBO and had a great connection

When you have a limit the carriers want you to burn through it, and when you don't they throttle your speed

Now the only thing I have to figure out is how to get unlimited data that isn't throttled

The con is that you don't get unlimited data as you can with your cell service, and of course there's now an extra monthly fee that you weren't paying before

Certainly something for photographers to consider if they want to copy off the data off their micro SD card to a hard drive so they can clear out the micro SD card to continue taking photos

This kit with an antenna for mobile hotspot may be useful if you need extended range or connect multiple devices or you mount your Wi-Fi hotspot any camper or an RV

I’ve not been able to fully test how good this device is at bringing in a stronger signal in remote locations yet.

They direct you to online documentation which I found to be only marginally better (some better troubleshooting and how to use the reset button would have been helpful).

The pro of this type of setup is that this kit includes an external cellular antenna that will be more likely to provide high quality throughput than would your cell phone were you to use that as a tethering hotspot (in other words, you'll get better cellular service connectivity with this than you will with a cellphone at any given location)

My work provided me a crappy wifi hot spot...when I saw this, I jumped on it, as I have AT&Tit works superb, quite shocked at how well connectivity is....not sure why it beats other wifi hot spots, but in my experience, it does...so many variables, no blanket statements...but for me, this thing rocks!easy set up, assuming u r somewhat tech savvy....will use in RV as well, a perfect application where coverage is spottyhighly recommended....
