this was a present for my grandson and he absolutely loves it.

For the price point of these horns, I was concerned about the threading wearing out on the detachable bell versions.-Finally, the two tone color of the instrument is very attractive and the soft case looked nice and also the metronome/ tuner.-I was concerned about the valves sticking that was mentioned in the other reviews, but nonetheless was excited to be getting a French Horn of my own

The soft case that comes with the horn is very light, anyone that has carried a traditional hard case will notice this.

Amazon also has the Conn 6D/8D and Yamaha 567/667 Horns which are 10x the price, but beautiful instruments

I've remedied this with a few pieces of felt and some gorilla glue, but that was my only complaint regarding the horn in this price range.

it is a double french horn, there were some cheaper single F horns that looked nice for a little less

but it may not be as durable as the more expensive horns if it were to be a daily use horn that was taken to school everyday.

If you have an elementary/middle school child - this is a good horn to have.
