It muddies sounds, and I guess would would as a wind shield
It's improved my sound drastically and came earlier than expected, would buy again
But once I got it on the mic, it does help eliminate noise and produces a nice clean sound.

It just takes that bottom being open to render a windscreen or pop filter ineffective
