I had tried out a set of "Swing bass" roto's on my Gibson Ripper and it really brought the vintage tone I knew and loved out of the bass, so when I saw roto made a flatwound set of 5 for acoustic

I don't know if these helped as much as all the other things I tried, but these have a better, fuller tone thruout the scale with no flat spots that I could notice.

When I bought it, the previous owner had used the nano-web Elixer strings and while they felt great and had a great, full tone, they were not flats so they ate up the neck, and of course the metal caused that well-known "fretless buzz" you often read about

They have the nice mellow sound with enough treble that I really like.

A year in these are still my go-to strings, and the original set I bought still sounds fantastic - lasts way longer than roundwounds.

If you like thicker strings with low remain, this is the perfect set for you

It's not your everyday request so to find such a set of strings was a miracle

Never had such a poor string experience as I did trying these Rotosound 88s, and the worst part is that the packaging is open; it's ineligible for returns
