Reviews around trek (5.00 of 5)

  • All things considered, this collection is pure Trek and comics history
  • Now to be able to have my complete comic collection of Star Trek books available to read at anytime anywhere is great
  • I love Trek and this helped me relive many a childhood summer reading the comics.
  • However I do own the Marvel/Paramount Star Trek/X-Men Generations comic and the Star Trek TNG/X-Men Second Contact comic both of which are missing from the list of this "complete" collection
  • If you enjoy Star Trek this should hold you over until the next movie.

Reviews around product (5.00 of 5)

  • Suffice it to say, this product made me wax sentimental
  • This is a great product and priced at only $7 it's an incredible bargain for over 500 comics
  • They were taking the time to scan and create this product anyway, why not put in just a bit more effort and time and end up with a much cleaner, useful, and professional looking end product

Reviews around key (5.00 of 5)

  • I like some of the flaws in the early Gold Key comics with fire coming out of the Enterprise nacelles, or seeing the Enterprise skimming over the treetops of some planet, or better yet the complete annihilation of an entire planet of diverse intelligent plants-talk about ignoring the prime directive
  • I bought this strictly for the 61 classic Gold Key comics, and it's well worth the price for these alone
  • I must say it looks very nice on my touch screen and it gives me lots of reading pleasure if you're into the old Gold Key comics
  • I was fascinated to read the old original Gold Key comics from the late 60's and early 70's.
  • I remember reading some of the Gold Key comics as a kid and when I saw this I had to check it out.

Reviews around star (5.00 of 5)

  • Now to be able to have my complete comic collection of Star Trek books available to read at anytime anywhere is great
  • It is very unlikely you will ever come across this anywhere else, so what are you waiting for?5 stars, brilliant!
  • However I do own the Marvel/Paramount Star Trek/X-Men Generations comic and the Star Trek TNG/X-Men Second Contact comic both of which are missing from the list of this "complete" collection

Reviews around series (5.00 of 5)

  • The only place where there are incomplete books here are the mission logs, and there is a message explaining the original content is in the Gold Key series
  • I have only read the oldest two series of the original Star Trek comics and really enjoyed them.
  • Some of the comics, especially the Gold Key series are older, but the scans are good enough to read.

Reviews around thing (5.00 of 5)

  • I still gave the set 4 star because it gave me every issue of trek for a great low price; even though your unlikely to read most of the issues it's a cool thing to own
  • Another cool thing about Goodreader is that it gets rid of the watermarked "copy protection" that is smack in the middle of each page.
  • it's the next best thing to actually having the comic in hand
  • The entire books are scanned, so you get to see all of the great ads and things from years past

Reviews around job (5.00 of 5)

  • They do a decent job putting the comics into a logical hierarchy so you can find publisher, series or type
  • Over 500 titles, and GIT Corp. has done a pretty solid job of scanning
  • As usual, GIT does a great job with the scans and goes an extra step - including not just the original comics, but also any graphic novels the collected the comics - which are especially nice when you're reading some of the DC ones

Reviews around content (5.00 of 5)

  • I feel that the overall content is very good, covers all the issues out there and is all in one place
  • Lots of great stories, great content and variety
  • The box was a bit worn from shipping, but the contents inside were great

Reviews around price (4.37 of 5)

  • This product gives you several hundred comic books for a very reasonable price
  • Now, they're available all in one place for a relatively cheap price.
  • This is a great product and priced at only $7 it's an incredible bargain for over 500 comics
  • And at a very affordable price - that's like getting each comic for less than ten
  • I still gave the set 4 star because it gave me every issue of trek for a great low price; even though your unlikely to read most of the issues it's a cool thing to own

Reviews around story (3.86 of 5)

  • In any event the entire collection is well worth it, great stories, great artwork, all for about 8 cents a comic.
  • There is some very memorable material here with good stories and characterization
  • There are some great stories in here, some laughably bad stories in here, but it's ALL here.
  • Definitely a great way to read some classic stories, and not spend a ton of cash.
  • This contains a lot of great stories some may have missed or you could be just getting started in comics and you chose this genre / group

Reviews around book (3.75 of 5)

  • The only place where there are incomplete books here are the mission logs, and there is a message explaining the original content is in the Gold Key series
  • For my own guilty pleasure, I have to say the Gold Key books, as campy and completely non-canon as they are, are the reason I bought this
  • I was somewhat stupid, as my father told me that books would be worth something one day
  • Later, my grandma, who worked at the old Woolworths store bought me three of the Gold Key log books
  • Now to be able to have my complete comic collection of Star Trek books available to read at anytime anywhere is great

Reviews around issue (3.70 of 5)

  • Neither of these titles were also included on the disc, very likely due to licensing rights issues
  • To be fair though, both are Marvel issues that featured various X-Men characters, and I would have been more surprised if they had been included than if they hadn't
  • Having just the original hard to get Gold Key issues would make this product worth the price alone, but there is so much more!
  • If you ever regretted having missed a certain issue of any Trek comic (or if it's one that's impossible and/or too expensive to find--or if you didn't even know it existed), well it's right here--ALL of them!
  • In addition, the checklist references all of the British Star Trek comics that were published in the 1970's, though none of those stories are presented on this disc (also very likely due to licensing rights issues)

Reviews around quality (3.50 of 5)

  • I've read most of the reviews here regarding the shoddy packaging, the unpopular choice of scanning the pages 2-up, and the general mediocre quality of the scans themselves ... and yes, they're valid points
  • The quality of the scans isn't ARCHIVE quality, but it's decent
  • The comics are scanned into PDFs, with really good quality.
  • The scan quality is quite good, and I do like how there are so many of them included.
  • The scans are of very good quality; I haven't had any problems reading them
