I have used Tom Crown straight mutes, Vacchiano, and Humes and Berg Stone Lined mutes, and in a head to head comparison, the Vacchiano blows the Humes and Berg out of the water, and competes well with the Tom Crown (I prefer the copper metal Tom Crown best).
