The batteries are hot swappable, very convenient, because changing batteries is a hassle with APC
The ability to add additional batteries provides additional flexibility, but for our application (see above), the internal battery is sufficient.
The batteries in it are replaceable and it can do all kinds of things and give you all kinds of readings that an IT guy would know about because it's designed for network usage.

lower end units generally just get thrown out and replaced when the battery goes, but the Liebert makes it easy to just replace the batteries every 3-5 years

I'd definitely recommend the Liebert 100% for datacenter scenarios, especially when compared to more consumer-oriented products from APC and other lower-end companies

It is overkill for what I run, but frankly it is so far above what is available at the consumer level I am willing to pay the extra to get the best product.
In all seriousness :The Liebert GXT4 is the best product
This product is a little noisy, but I have it in an equipment closet, so it's not an issue

This is where the Liebert really shines because when a power failure hits, this doesn't have a momentary lapse in the transfer of power from direct to battery like most others
This results in a continuous power output in the event of a power failure
As a result, I had only a few minutes to act in downing and safely shutting down devices in the event of a power failure
The system has kept the power clean thru power failure and input irregularities.
This means that there is zero switch-over time in case of a power failure, and since you're on the battery, there is a heck of a lot of line-conditioning going on
