I would probably recommend super gluing them down to your stick to at least minimize the impact of the splitting.
They can even be fit to Xbone sticks with a bit of wiggle room, but that can be solved by securing them to the top of the sticks with something like super glue if you're so inclined
Would recommend some super glue if your original joysticks were worn badly
