The foam is very thick compared to another gig bag that I bought, so it provides good protection for the guitar.

It arrived with about an inch long gouge on the side but since this was a case for my "cheap" guitar (at least relative to my Taylor) and returning/replacing such a bulky item would be a huge hassle I decided it wasn't worth fussing over
