  • The best slide lubricant I've found in 50+ years of buying slide lubricants
  • This is the best trombone slide lubricant money can buy
  • Have been using it for more than 10 years and is the best slide lubricant I've ever had.

Reviews around use (5.00 of 5)

  • I would like to see the formula improved for extended use - less re-application required.
  • I switched to this slide lubricant about a year ago and it is the best thing I have ever used on my slide.
  • It is by far the best slide product I have ever used, The tip is different but seems to work fine.
  • This is the best slide lubricant that I have ever used.
  • I don't think it is the best slide lubricant I've ever used, but it is easy to carry, apply, and works reasonably well

Reviews around work (5.00 of 5)

  • The lubricant works great, makes slide work smooth like "butta".Easy to apply, smells good too!Only downfall is it doesn't last very long.
  • Works better than Slide-o-Mix and also doesn't get as liquidy under hot conditions
  • After switching trombones and using this product for over a year, I've found that a generous application works best on my Conn 88HTO.
  • I admit to not really spending much effort trying different things, but I did know that cold cream type lubricants work very well, but not for long
  • You have to lube the slide more frequently than with the other major lubricants on the market (i.e., Trombotine, Slide-O-Mix, Super Slick, Ultra-Pure, Bach, Getzen & Shilkie slide cream).

Reviews around product (4.78 of 5)

  • Every now and then there is a trombone where some other approach works slightly better - but this is the best product on 9 bones out of 10
  • It is by far the best slide product I have ever used, The tip is different but seems to work fine.
  • I recommend this product to everyone that plays trombone
  • That product for beginners attracts dirt and builds up on the slide tubes.
  • Awesome product works very well on my trombone just letting people know it says

Reviews around action (4.42 of 5)

  • The stuff seems a bit "creamier" than other oils and liquid creams, (which is probably why it seems to last longer & have smoother action) but I never need to use a bone bottle - even after the stuff has been on for several days - it just stays moist & slick
  • It's a good idea before you use it, to use a cleaning rod wrapped in a strip of cheeze cloth or T-shirt - to get what you formerly used out of the outer slides, to get the best slide action
  • But this Yamaha stuff is kind of gloppy and stringy and really clings to the slide tubes in a way that creates a smoother action that lasts better.
  • With Yamaha slide oil, you will experience worry free slide action and long lasting performance.
  • I have an older Conn, and I was thinking about replacing it, because the action on the slide was not great.

Reviews around oil (4.33 of 5)

  • My son's music teacher recommend this specific slide oil
  • Clear oil sucks
  • It's nothing like the cheap slide oils that come with beginning trombones.
  • In 48 years playing trombone (since elementary school and professionally) this is the best slide treatment, oil or cream, that I have ever used.
  • This oil was recommended/supplied when I bought my new Getzen 1060 bass trombone & pre-owned 1047 tenor trombone from The Horn Guys (formerly Ferguson's) in La Crescenta; best slide stuff I've ever used

Reviews around mix (2.94 of 5)

  • Works better than Slide-o-Mix and also doesn't get as liquidy under hot conditions
  • I'm not entirely sure it's any better, but it does seem to last a little longer and not end up gumming up my slide as bad as slide-o-mix tends to do.
  • It's not like slide o mix with the two bottles
  • You have to lube the slide more frequently than with the other major lubricants on the market (i.e., Trombotine, Slide-O-Mix, Super Slick, Ultra-Pure, Bach, Getzen & Shilkie slide cream).
  • Nor have I encountered a bottle with clumps in it (which is common with Slide-o-Mix Rapid Comfort)
