Sony SEL24240 FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Zoom Lens for Mirrorless Cameras

    • This is the best camera lens I have ever had
    • There is a significant play between the lens and camera that is annoying when turning the zoom ring
    • The camera would not focus even manually and the zoom ring would only work between 50 & 100 mm
    • Some shots will come through fantastic (those taken perfectly lit, camera is still, no wind blowing) with perfect sharpness, other shots (usually a little shaded, possibly in motion as walking through a town will give you {no tripod}) come through looking like they were taken with a 110 disposable
    • Well so far so good lens fits camera just fine
    • So with the SmallRig plate, the camera and lens balance well on the tripod.
    • Sony, if you're going to make ridiculously small, lightweight, mirrorless camera bodies like the A7 series, you have to do the same with the lens
    • and I will try to help people understanding what kind of Market this lens is for and what is the best camera to use it
    • The real excitement will be for A6000 series users which will have a lens with a focal length of 52.5x360mm: this means that even if it's not a prime you can have great portrait at f3.5 with a creamy bokeh at 52mm and you will also be able to use the camera hands free at its maximum range of 360mm
    • I thought perhaps I had a bad copy and would exchange, but after seeing other images posted on line (see Steve Huff blog) that were as soft as
    • And the zoomed pictures from the HX400 are as clear as if the lenses were made of plastic.
